The Rotom Pokédex, also known as the Rotom Dex, is an electronic device found in Alola and an enhanced version of the Pokédex. It appears in Pokémon Sun and Moon and Pokémon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon. This special Pokédex is said to be rare, even in the Alola region. While inside the Pokédex Rotom can speak with the player. It is given to the player by Professor Kukui.

Piplup is a light-blue penguin-like Pokémon, which is covered in thick down to insulate against the cold. It has a dark blue head with a primarily white face and a short, yellow beak. The dark blue feathers on its head extend down its back and around its neck, which causes it to appear to be wearing a cape. 

Chansey is an Egg Pokémon. She has three strands of hair sticking out on each side. Chansey is entirely light pink, except for its egg and tips of her "Hair". She has a major resemblance to an axolotl, even carrying eggs.

Zapdos is an avian Pokémon with predominantly yellow plumage. Black rings encircle its eyes, and it has a long, thin, light orange beak. Its wings and tail are a mass of spiky feathers, with black feathers covering the back of its wings and inner tail feathers. A large crest of spiked feathers surrounds its head. Its thighs are a khaki color, and it has anisodactyl feet ending in talons.

Moltres is a large avian Pokemon with orange or golden plumage. It has a long flowing head crest and a billowing tail both made of flames. Additionally its wings are also shrouded in fiery plumage

Articuno is a large bird with blue plumage. Its colouring is darkest on its head crest and long, streaming tail. Its body is coloured sky-blue, while growing lighter on its front, and its chest is a lighter blue than anything. Its most distinctive trait is its large wings, which are said to be made of ice. Its eyes are a medium shade of red.

Cosmog is a small Pokémon with a gaseous body similar to a nebula. It has two wisp-like extensions that serve as arms and an ellipse running down its body. Its front and back are black in color. It has yellow eyes and two blue cheeks. In behavior, Cosmog has an overly trusting nature and it immediately takes a liking to whoever shows it kindness, even when that person doesn't have the best intentions for it.

Diancie is a distinctly feminine fairy-like creature with a gray rocky body embedded with bright pink crystals and gemstones. This Mythical Pokémon is the result of a mutated Carbink. Diancie wears a white cloak-like garment with long white sleeves from which its tiny gray hands protrude. Diancie has a golden collar around its neck, a pink diamond on its chest, and a crown-like headdress of pink gems upon its head.

Torchic is a small, chick-like Pokémon. Its soft, fluffy plumage is mainly bright orange, with tiny, yellow, developing wings, and a yellow plume of three feathers atop its head. It has a small, tan beak, and large, black eyes. It has tan-colored talons with three digits.

Ditto's original appearance is very plain. It is a simple, pinkish-purple, amorphous blob, with two small dots as eyes and a long, curved mouth. Ditto will transform into anything it sees, even inanimate objects. When it sees an enemy, it will change its DNA code to match theirs. 

Jigglypuff is a pink Pokémon with a spherical body. It has pointed ears with black insides and large, blue eyes. It has small, stubby arms and slightly longer feet. On top of its head is a curled tuft of fur. 

t is a dragon-like Pokémon that is serpentine in shape and covered in blue and yellow scales. It has white fins on top of its body and it has a tan underbelly. It has fins on the side of its face and a large, blue crest on its forehead. Like Magikarp, it has "whiskers".

Fennekin is a small, fox-like Pokémon. It has yellow, orange and white fur. The fur on its long, pointy muzzle and face is white, while its body is mainly covered in bright yellow fur. It has fluffy tufts of vibrant, flame-orange fur protruding from its ears. Its eyes are round and bright orange with slit pupils. Its nose is round and black. It has a short, bushy yellow tail with an orange tip, similarly-shaped to the tail of Zorua.

Oshawott is a bipedal mammalian sea otter-like Pokémon. It has fur covering its entire body, with white fur on its face and arms, light blue fur on its torso and it has a dark blue flat tail, feet and ears. It also has a tan-colored scallop shell attached to its stomach called a "scalchop," which is made of keratin (the same substance as human hair and fingernails). If broken, its scalchop can regrow.

Tepig is a small quadrupedal mammalian Pokémon that resembles a piglet. Its plump body is mainly a bright fiery orange color. Its ears, forehead, backside, tail, and the tips of its front feet are black. It has long ears, large eyes with black pupils, and a distinctly pig-like pink nose with two large nostrils. It has a short yellow stripe extending vertically across the front of its face, just above its nose. 

Alolan Vulpix, having moved to the snowy mountains to avoid other Pokémon habitats, has adapted to the cold climate. It is a fox-like Pokémon with snow white fur and ice blue paws. Alolan Vulpix's most distinctive feature is its snow white body and its six ice blue tails which are connected by a tuft of snow white fur. On the top of its head, Alolan Vulpix has a tuft of snow white fur which curls back and falls over its forehead at the bottom.

Komala is a gray Pokémon similar to a koala. It has large, rounded ears with light orange fur on the inside. Its large, ovoid black nose extends up between its fluffy white eyebrows, and there are additional white puffs of fur on each cheek. There is a small ruff of longer, gray fur around its neck. Each hand is black with five short fingers, and it has three black claws and a black paw pad on each foot. Its underbelly is white, as is its short fluffy tail. It is usually seen holding a short wooden log.

Espeon is a quadrupedal mammalian Pokémon with a cat-like appearance. Sleek and lilac/lavender purple fur covers its body. It has a red jewel encrusted on its forehead; this jewel glows whenever Espeon uses its Psychic abilities.

Snorlax is a very large and fat, bear-like Pokémon that has grayish-blue fur and an apricot-color underbelly. Its eyes are always closed, making it look as if it is sleeping.

Eevee is a small, mammalian creature with bushy, brown fur. Its muzzle is very cat-like, with a small, black, triangular nose. It has a fluffy cream-colored ruff around its neck and a short, bushy, fox-like tail with a creamy.

Venusaur is a large, dinosaur-like Pokémon that is somewhat similar in appearance to its pre-evolved forms, Ivysaur and Bulbasaur. Its skin still retains a light turquoise color, but it no longer has the spots, and it appears more rough and scaly, with bumps here and there.  There is also a third spike protruding in the middle of its chest.

Scorbunny looks like a small white rabbit with reddish-orange patches at both the tips of its ears and feet and light yellow rectangles on its face right between the eyes and the soles of its feet. Around its neck comes with a red item that looks like a circular pillow that gives an impression of the collar.

Greninja, like its previous evolution, has the body style of a frog. In this form, it now resembles Toxicroak and has gained the appearance of a ninja. It is dark blue in color and has its tongue wrapped around its neck like a scarf instead of the bubbles found on Froakie and Frogadier.

Meltan is a small Pokémon with a gold head, which resembles a hex nut, and a glossy silver body. A black sphere floats in the center of Meltan's head like a magnet; the sphere itself is Meltan's eye. A red cable sticks out from Meltan's back, acting as a tail. Its hex nut head can also spin and it is revealed to be the primary source of Meltan’s eye power.

Its shiny form has a light brown color on its hex nut head and a blue cable tail.

Lucario is a bipedal dog/wolf/jackal-like Pokémon, with a few kangaroo and/or raccoon-like characteristics as well. Though similar in appearance to Riolu, Lucario has some notable differences. Its forepaws are black and it has large pointed spikes in place of the oval shaped bumps on Riolu. There is also a third spike protruding in the middle of its chest.

Although it retains the same gold hex nut, red cable-like tail, and metallic silver liquid body of its pre-evolved form, Melmetal has a muscular build, in addition of having another gold hex nut for a neck or look like a mask, and black hex nuts on its chest, and each two hands, shoulders, elbows and feet respectively.
